Exterior – Hyundai Dealer serving Southfield MI

The first new aspect that will jump out at you when you compare the 2021 Hyundai Kona to the model is the front end. Hyundai has also updated all of the exterior lighting elements. It has added faux skid plates in the front and rear, and it now offers more wheel designs and finishes. In terms of the fundamentals, the Kona remains largely unchanged. It still has a 102.4-inch wheelbase and a 6.7-inch minimum ground clearance. Interior – 2022 Hyundai Kona in Southfield MI

Not much has changed in regard to the interior when comparing the 2022 Hyundai Kona vs 2021 Hyundai Kona. The biggest difference is that there are now just four trim levels—SE, SEL, N Line and Limited—and so the cabin packages are more condensed. The new N Line model stands out as the biggest departure from the 2021 Hyundai Kona. That is because it has special N Line sport seating that was not available with the previous model. The N Line models also feature interior red and gloss black accents that you will not find on the other trim levels. The Limited trim level has also been enhanced with various interior styling cues so that it looks the part of the range-topping Kona cabin.

Hyundai Kona Mechanical specs

The 2021 Hyundai Kona SE, SEL and SEL Plus models have a six-speed automatic transmission mated to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The Night, Limited and Ultimate models have a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic mated to a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 175 hp and 195 lb.-ft. The SE and SEL—there is no longer an SEL Plus—come with the same 147-hp four-cylinder, but Hyundai now pairs it with an IVT: an intelligent variable automatic transmission. The N Line and Limited—there is no longer a Night or Ultimate—is paired with the same transmission and engine, but the engine output has been improved to 195 hp. There is also an upcoming N model that will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes between 276 and 286 hp.
