New Hyundai 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe vs 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale in Southfield, MI
2020 Hyundai Santa Fe vs 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai completely redesigned the Santa Fe for the 2019 model year. The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe boasted a new two-row configuration, an exterior makeover and a restyled, reorganized interior. The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe has now arrived at Glassman Hyundai, your local Hyundai dealer serving Detroit Southfield Waterford. While consumers should not expect big changes from the second year of a new generation, there are some notable refinements. Hyundai has streamlined the trim lineup, expanded the standard and optional equipment and added enhanced blind-spot detection to the top trim.
Exterior – 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe
The 2019 model was offered at five trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited and Ultimate. Hyundai decided that there was a bit too much overlap with the SEL and SEL Plus as well as the Limited and Ultimate. So, the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is available in just three trims: SE, SEL and Limited. The SEL takes on much of the SEL Plus equipment and offers the rest as options, and the Limited did similar with the Ultimate. Note that there are 2.0T editions of the SEL and Limited, but this has more to do with the powertrain than anything, so those are discussed in the mechanical section. All models feature a 108.9-inch wheelbase. Automatic headlamps are standard. LED versions become standard with the SEL 2.0T as do LED foglamps. Side mirrors are matched to the body color you choose. Those are heated on the SEL and up and include integrated turn signal lights on the SEL 2.0T and up.
Interior – 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe in Southfield MI
Other than some of the feature shuffling with the streamlined trim lineup, the 2019 and 2020 interior are quite similar. The SE is well-equipped for the class and features cloth upholstery that is stain-resistant, a noise-dampening windshield, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, USB ports and steering-wheel mounted controls for cruise control, audio and Bluetooth. The SEL adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, push-button start and power-adjustable driver seating. A Convenience and Premium group is also available with the SEL that adds a power liftgate, upgraded audio system and a panoramic sunroof. The Limited includes that group as standard equipment and adds front seat ventilation, rear seat heating, a heated steering wheel and an 8.0-iinch touchscreen.
Mechanical – Santa Fe specs in Southfield
A 2.0L turbocharged I4 is an option. Last model year, it was only available with the Limited or Ultimate. With the 2020 edition, you can opt for either the SEL 2.0T or the Limited 2.0T. This engine makes 235 hp and 260 lb.-ft. Both powertrains feature selectable driving modes as well as Idle Stop & Go. The ISG system disables the engine when idle and automatically reactivates it when you step on the gas.
Powertrain – Hyundai Santa Fe specs in Southfield MI
The powertrains for 2020 are similar to 2019, but availability has been switched up a bit. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup as is front-wheel drive, but you can opt for all-wheel drive at any trim level. The base engine is a 2.4L I4 that makes 185 hp and 178 lb.-ft. of torque.
Safety – 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe dealer
The base model features a 7.0-inch touchscreen that provides access to a rearview camera among other resources. The SE also features adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams and collision avoidance via automatic emergency braking. The second-tier SEL trim adds Blue Link communications, a blind-spot detection system, rear cross-path detection and Safe Exit Assist, which prevents opening your door into oncoming traffic. The Limited builds on the SEL with an 8.0-inch color touchscreen and a built-in navigation system. It also features a Blind View Monitor, which provides a real-time view of blind spots on either side of the car. The feed can be turned on as needed or automatically provided when the turn signals are activated. Other standard equipment includes driver attention monitoring, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control with traction control and brake assist and a four-wheel anti-lock braking system.
